I have read all of this series. ALL OF THEM. This one is so disappointing that I had to double even triple check it was the same person. If I hear one more version of a sexual organ I will scream...... and using synonyms at every turn.... No. Just NO! It was like she had to write this book to fill and contract and she ran out of time. The premise was good the follow through sucked! I had my chuckles but you can only beat that horse so many times especially when you beat it in the books prior. Enough was enough! I did finish it painfully. Sad I paid full price for this and not free or 99 cents. Should of never done it.Tags : The Hero and the Hacktivist - Kindle edition by Pippa Grant. The Hero and the Hacktivist edition by Pippa Grant Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
“Rhett strips out of his shirt, and holy mother of binary, I just ovulated so hard I think an egg fell out my nose.” This is one of my favorite lines from this book. Pippa Grant has definitely outdone herself on developing a character who can talk utter nonsense but is still completely relatable.
Eloise has a lot of hidden issues and Rhett only wants to be her hero, but Eloise is soooo stubborn. This unlikely couple has a lot of chemistry but Rhett’s control and Eloise’s sarcasm seem to get in the way a lot.
This book will make you laugh out loud at some of the funniest one-liners, and sometimes just individual words, that I’ve ever read in one book.
Genre Romance - Comedy, suspense, best-friend's brother, sister's best-friend, military (SEAL)
Standalone Yes
Part of a Series Not technically but all of Pippa Grount's books are all set in the same timeline and in the same world
PVO Rhett and Eloise
Steam Level Toasty Warm
4.5/5
If you're looking for an outrageously sweet, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with steam, mystery and hijinks then The Hero and the Hackitivist is the book you want. While all Pippa Grant books are laugh out loud funny, each one gets better and better. I highly recommend all of her books. I own all of Pippa Grant's books and they definitely get me out of any funk.
We've met both Rhett before in Stud in the Stacks Rhett (The Hero) is Parker's brother and this book starts at Parker and Knox's wedding. You don't need to have read Stud in the Stacks before reading this book but it's even more fun if you have since some of the running jokes continue into this one (none are critical but even more fun). We also know Eloise from several other previous books (mainly Mister McHottie, Stud in the Stacks, and Rockaway Bride - the other members of their all girl boy band cover band). Eloise is outrageous, saying and doing things to make her seem weirder than she is. I loved getting to know both these characters even more (and hope to see more of Parker's other brothers fall hard).
I loved the added suspense element to this story. It made The Hero and the Hacktivist even more of a page-turner than previous Pippa Grant books. I read an advanced version of this book but bought it immediately once the pre0rdert links went live. You should too!
Pippa Grant, has the most wonderful way of expressing herself.
It's almost like another language. I love it.
Eloise Jayne (aka an accidental heiress who gets laid a lot less than she pretends), is a drummer in an all girls band but she also has an inheritance that allows her and her brother Davey, not to have to work.
Eloise, had mad hacking skills that she uses to avenge the innocent. A Robin Hood of the Cyber world.
Rhett Elliott (aka a badass hero suffering in silence), a Navy seal, who had a mission go sideways it's back with a disasembled team and stuck in a recruitment office with no action.
They hookup at her best friend's wedding and who happens to be his sister.
When he senses that Eloise, is in trouble, his Seal senses are on high alert.
In away, they are so much alike.
Nobody understands their brand of crazy. They just get one another.
As he vows to protect her, she doesn't want him to get hurt on her account.
Someone is out to kill her for relocating his illegal money.
This is a page turner.
Another awesome read by Pippa Grant. 😊 🦄🦄🦕🦖
I can't wait for the next book.
